The Cold War Today
The cold war was a long lasting war that called for many advancements in the military and technology area's. In the military America had created the atomic bomb, then later the H-Bomb, these bombs were made all because America wanted to be better than Russia. But late in the month of April President Obama signed a treaty with the Russian government to reduce most of their Nuclear bombs. Technology during the cold war allows us now to enter space, take pictures from space, and discover new things from space.

Cold War Tensions- Cuban missile crisis
The Cuban missile crisis was a time of great fear in America. This started with the Russians sending nuclear bombs to Cuba, knowing this America was frightened that any day at any time Cuba could wipe out most to all Americans. The United States and J.F.Kennedy had 12 days to decide what to do about this issue before the bombs were ready and armed. This all ended with the Russians and Americans agreeing to certain terms. The main idea in this treaty was: to get Russia to pull all nuclear weapons out of Cuba and 6 months later America will pull their nuclear weapons out of Turkey.

Cold War Tensions- Korean War

The Korean War was started after Russia spread their influence into china then continued on and tried to reach Korea. After Russia "took over" North Korea, America went to war to keep South Korea from being influenced by Communism. The War lasted for three years (1950-1953) and during that time 33,741 US soldiers died. The war ended with the US and South Korea attacking North Korea secretly.
